ANAM Concerto Competition
The Australian National Academy of Music (ANAM) is dedicated to the artistic and professional development of the nation’s finest young musicians. In this concert you get to hear students from ANAM perform back-to-back concertos.

The conductor for rhe concertos ia American-born Marc Taddei. Marc graduated from The Juilliard School before moving to New Zealand, where he is in his sixth year as Music Director of the Vector Wellington Orchestra. He was previously music director of the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra. He conducts every professional orchestra in New Zealand, works with the national ballet and opera companies and film festivals, regularly performs as guest conductor with the major Australian orchestras, and returns every year to the US. He has worked with artists as diverse as Dame Kiri Te Kanawa, Anne Sofie von Otter and Diana Krall. Last season’s highlights included the premiere of Jenny McLeod’s opera Hohepa at the New Zealand International Arts Festival, and his New York City Ballet debut conducting The Nutcracker. With an acclaimed discography comprising over 20 recordings, he has also conducted music for film and television, and for DVD productions in collaboration with many leading composers and visual artists.
