Worldwide workshop and festival of weaving, spinning, dying and textile art and craft activities.
Weave your way to Bothwell to feel felt, spin a yarn, watch wool shorn to worn, mingle with the makers and join the learning loop at the SPINin.
The Bothwell SpinIn is a biennial event focused on fibre related craft practices.
The SpinIn was the inspiration of a local resident Mrs Barbara Fowler to raise funds for the restoration of Bothwell's historic St Luke's Uniting Church. Since then it has evolved into a significant international and regional festival.
Competitions are great favourites at the SpinIn and the festival will feature "accessorize", create an accessory, "creative fibre", mix any fibres then spin them and "seasons", create a garment them being aTasmanian season. The traditional friendship ball, longest thread, fashion parades, coupled with workshops, traders, displays and much more.
The sheep dog trials will be at Bothwell and demonstrations featuring shearing, wool classing, spinning fleece to the making of a garment will be a must for all to see.
