Festival of Roses
The National Rose Garden at world Heritage listed Woolmers estate near Longford will be the venue for the inaugural Woolmers Festival of Roses. The festival will take the form of a Garden Fair and open day at the beautiful UNESCO listed Convict Site.
The Festival of Roses Open Day will showcase over 5000 roses in their first bloom with stunning sights and smells. Numerous stalls will be on site including food, music, children's activities and other special events will also be a part of the day.
Associated with the Woolmers Festival of Roses will be an Art Exhibition in the newly restored Woolmers Cottage. Really more a grand Georgian mansion, it’s the first time this important heritage building will be open to the public. The exhibition has as its theme ‘Roses and Art’ and the paintings displayed will be for sale.
Guided Tours of Woolmers Homestead, always a highlight of any visit to the Estate, can be booked at a discounted rate at the office on the day and the Servant’s Kitchen Café will serve light lunches as well as their famous Devonshire Teas.
Woolmers and the National Rose Garden are administered by a not-for-profit Foundation and all funds raised will be used to keep this unique place beautiful.
