Louisa's Walk (Live History!)
Louisa's Walk is unique strolling theatre depicting the Convict Drama of South Hobart. Centred in and around the world heritage listed Cascade Female Factory this is live theatre which will take you into the heart of an Irish convict woman's story - Louisa Ragan. You will be moved as Louisa tells her story. You will learn of her arrest, conviction and transportation to Van Diemen's Land on a seven year sentence, in 1841, for stealing a loaf of bread.

You walk with the actors, as the story begins outside the Cascade Brewery in South Hobart, along the Hobart Rivulet to the Female Factory where Louisa was imprisoned. Once there, the Female Factory’s daily life is graphically described
There is a short interval where you are returned to the 21st century.
The story ends on a positive note, as you learn of her life after the Factory, her marriage and connection to the historic Cascade Brewery.
Louisa's Walk is a journey of 90 minutes. Umbrellas are provided to protect you from the sun or rain.
