Luke's tours and workshops range from short one or two hour 'One-on-One' tuition sessions in Hobart to fully guided, multi-day landscape photography workshops in the best locations all over Tasmania such as Cradle Mountain, the Bay of Fires and Mt Field.

Luke's photography tours are suitable for people of all levels of experience and ability. All workshops run with a minimum of only two participants so personalised learning time is guaranteed. Luke has a wealth of experience to share with beginners who are looking for tips using their DSLR camera including manual settings, ISO and slow shutter speed. For more advanced photographers, Luke's local knowledge is invaluable when it comes to getting into locations at just the right time for that perfect shot.

    • This three day Tasmanian photography tour and workshop is based in St Helens in Tasmania's world famous Bay of Fires region.

      Features of this workshop include sunrise and sunset sessions in the Binalong Bay area, as well as two half day shoots - one in the lovely green rainforest surrounding St Columba Falls, and the other at the Eddystone Lighthouse.

      We wll also take any opportunities that arise to explore wildlife photography (pelicans are commonly sighted in the Bay of Fires), macro photography (including the wonderful rainforest fungi which is seen in the cooler months) and of course seascape photography meaning all aspects of landscape photography will be covered.

      A post-processing tutorial is also included.

      Luke's workshops are suitable for photographers of all skill and experience levels. Beginners and intermediate photographers will benefit greatly from personalised in the field tuition, while more advanced shooters will be able to take advantage of Luke's wealth of knowledge of great locations in this incredibly beautiful area of Tasmania.

      All expenses are included in tour fee - accommodation (two nights, twin share), tuition, guide/vehicle, national parks entry (where applicable) and meals. Tour starts and finishes in Hobart.

    • Visit some beautiful Tasmanian rainforest and waterfalls in this full day Tasmanian photography tour. Enjoy the cool greenness of Tasmania’s cool temperate rainforest and marvel at some of the biggest trees in the world. View beautiful waterfalls and cascading streams and take time out in this ancient environment. We will spend the morning photographing Russell Falls and Horseshoe Falls deep in the Tasmanian rainforest at Mt Field National Park. After a delicious locally made lunch we will then visit the secluded Styx Valley of the Giants to photograph the tallest hardwood trees on earth.

      All expenses are included in the tour fee - tuition, guide/vehicle, national parks entry, lunch.

    • Cradle Mountain is without a doubt one of the most rewarding Tasmanian photography tours available.

      Together over three days we will photograph sunrises and sunsets at Dove Lake, we will see charming old wooden mountain huts and spectacular Tasmanian rainforest and alpine scenery. We will do sessions on wildlife photography, macro photography and an indoor post-processing session.

      We will take a leisurely visit to the sparkling Liffey Falls on the return to Hobart. Improving all aspects of your landscape photography is the goal of this three day photography tour!

      Workshops will include a night sky session at Dove Lake when weather and timing allows. Can we see the elusive Aurora Australis? It has happened before!

      All expenses included in tour fee - accommodation (based on twin share - single room available for a surcharge), tuition, guide/vehicle/transport, national parks entry, lunch and dinner day one; breakfast, lunch, dinner day two; and breakfast, lunch day three.

    • Discover some hidden waterfalls in the foothills of Mt Wellington, and then shoot a magnificent sunset from the Eastern Shore, as the city skyline sparkles into life under the imposing backdrop of Mt Wellington.

      Tour start/finish times are dependent on the season. The workshop will be five hours duration, starting mid-afternoon and finishing after the sun sets.

      This is a “self drive” tour – participants will be responsible for moving themselves between locations. No meals are included in this workshop. There are no entry fees required.

    • Brisbane-based Wildlife and Nature Photographer Michael Snedic and Tasmanian Landscape Photographer Luke O'Brien are very excited to present this brand new photographic exploration of the magnificent Tarkine rainforest in north west Tasmania.

      We will spend four nights at the lovely Wilderness hamlet "Corinna" exploring this timeless landscape. The highlight is of course ancient myrtle rainforest, and all the delights contained within including waterfalls, fast flowing rivers and the tiny autumn fungi.

      We will cruise to the head of the Pieman River aboard the historic Huon Pine crafted "Arcadia II" and shoot remote sunsets on Tasmania's rugged west coast.

      All transport, accomodation and meals are included. Participants are responsible for getting themselves to/from Tasmania to meet the tours departure from Launceston on 2 May 2015.
