It is bordered by dune-capped granite points, with some boulders outcropping along the eastern end of the beach, and seagrass meadows growing 100 metres offshore. The Allports Road runs down the backing slopes to a small reserve with a car park and toilets at the eastern end of the beach. A shaded free gas BBQ and picnic tables are provided, with the area for day use only, gas is kindly supplied by Parks and Wildlife. Fresh water for hand washing is available from a rainwater tank, however, it is advisable to bring your own drinking water.
