Le Tour de Flinders

Le Tour de Flinders is a cycling event started by Lions Club member Gordon Rorison to promote the Lions International Sight First Campaign and assist locals with fitness.

It is a fun bike ride rather than a race and people of all levels of fitness are encouraged to participate in riding as far as they are able, following a circuit around the island.

The ride passes through Lady Barron, Lackrana, Memana and Whitemark, before concluding back at Lady Barron, and is then followed by a healthy, celebratory BBQ.

2020 introduces several additional events, including Mountain Bike Tours and Hire, a Lions Club Market showcasing local goods and produce, a Parkrun course and a celebratory dinner complete with guest speaker.

There are also alternate routes for the main event, including the main 80km ride, a 26km ride, and the Mountain Biking Downhill Family Adventure, which caters for children and is only 5km. All three rides end at Wonderland, where a celebratory BBQ awaits, followed by an auction of donated items to raise extra funds for Lions International Sight First Campaign.
