In 2001, a national conservation restrictive covenant was entered into to ensure 'protection in perpetuity', and proclaimed these 100 acres - Pegarah Private Nature Reserve. It offers an extensive network of comfortable walking tracks through aged, intact, towering Blackwood and Eucalyptus forests, creek and giant man fern rainforest landscapes and King Island scrub complex with abundant sightings of rare and unique King Island birds, flora and fauna. The essence of King Island is the people and the place - 'Parenna Place.' An all-season, comfortable, welcoming gathering place set in an ancient, secluded, natural environment. Warm up with the wood fire in winter, retreat to the forest spaces for reflection and wellness, or enjoy what's on stage. Equipped for functions, seminars, classes, tour groups or private gatherings. For musicians and performers - recording studio, production audio and visual. A multifunctional retreat bush venue, perfect for casual or formal occasions, performance artists, research or 'up close and personal'. A changing calendar of events operates throughout the year. Workshops to weddings, speakers to scholars, locals and legends. Private and public (bookings required). A place to discover the rare, the endangered, and the unique. To work, to learn, to inform, to create - simply.
