This charming former coaching inn, built-in in 1860, is now a luxury bed and breakfast in the historic village of Longford, Northern Tasmania. Only fifteen minutes from Launceston airport, The Racecourse Inn is an ideal base for touring Northern Tasmania and the Tamar Valley Wine Route. The tastefully restored Inn exudes a historic ambiance, with climbing roses covering the convict-made bricks, and five spacious en-suite rooms. All guest rooms feature double glazing, with reverse-cycle air conditioning in the three upstairs rooms. The downstairs Standard Queen and Deluxe Spa rooms both feature 12-foot ceilings. Your tariff includes a fully cooked Tasmanian gourmet breakfast featuring fresh produce from our chickens, orchard, and kitchen garden. This fully licscened inn offers a cosy dining room with a wood fire and features one of only three barrel-vaulted ceilings in Tasmania. The Racecourse Inn is a five-minute drive from UNESCO World Heritage-listed Woolmers Estate and Brickendon Farm, and the stunning National Rose Garden at Woolmers. Stroll Longford's wide streets and admire the fine colonial architecture, visit antique and collectibles stores or fly fish for trout.
