Shutterbug Walkabouts' Women's Photography Escapes offer a unique opportunity to immerse in the joy of nature photography within a female-focused environment. These small-group retreats foster intuitive learning and experiential creativity, encouraging participants to savour the process of capturing nature's beauty in a way that resonates personally — an approach suited to both beginners and seasoned photo enthusiasts. Maria Island, a picturesque gem off Tasmania's east coast, presents an endless array of photographic opportunities, from sweeping landscapes and geological wonders to historic ruins, diverse wildlife and birdlife. During winter, Tasmania's soft, diffused light creates an atmospheric setting ideal for photographing landscapes, seascapes, wildlife and birds throughout the day. With expert guidance, participants can refine their skills in natural light and, when skies are clear, experiment with night photography techniques after dark. While photography remains the central focus, these Escapes also offer much more. They provide a welcoming space for like-minded women to connect, share stories and form meaningful bonds. There's also time to relax, reflect and recharge in the peaceful natural surroundings, making it a well-rounded and enriching experience. Led by Coreena, these Women's Photography Escapes are a meaningful way to enhance one's photography journey - combining skill development with inspiration, connection and the simple joy of being immersed in nature.
