    • Mt Field National Park is home to the much loved Russell Falls and a diverse environment of lush rainforest, alpine plants and native wildlife. You will have photo opportunities galore during selected walks in the forest and at Lake Dobson. Mt Field National Park was one of the first to be declared in Tasmania (along with Freycinet National Park), although the area that includes Russell Falls has been a protected reserve since 1885, because of its natural beauty. Discover why this area is so special - you will experience lush rainforests of tall tree ferns, magnificent waterfalls, diverse plant life and a chance of seeing some native animals too. From the forest floors to the tree canopies and everything in between you will be captivated by all that you see. At Lake Dobson, the Pandani Grove Nature Walk offers picturesque scenes of a rugged but pristine alpine environment. The spiky pandani is the largest heath plant in the world and it is endemic to Tasmania. If we are very lucky, we may just see a platypus in the lake too!

    • Magnificent views of remote mountain ranges in the south-west wilderness of Tasmania, landscapes shaped by glaciers during the ice age, walk among the treetops, cross wild rivers and wander along forest trails. The Hartz Mountains National Park is part of the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area - one that has awe-inspiring views through a window into the south-west wilderness. On a series of short walks you'll enjoy views of remote mountain ranges, discover a landscape shaped by glaciers and diverse vegetation including Pandani, King Billy Pine, Fungi, Lichens, Moss and more. Tahune Airwalk and Forest Reserve allows you to walk among the treetops on a cantilevered airwalk where you'll get breathtaking views of the forest canopy. You'll cross wild rivers on swinging bridges and wander along the forest trails of lush rainforest.

    • Shutterbug Walkabouts will learn about your interests and touring preferences and personally do all the groundwork of planning a photography experience especially for you - a personalised itinerary will cater to your individual interests and create a well-complemented Tasmanian holiday. Photography tour destinations for multi-day tours include Freycinet National Park (Wineglass Bay), Cradle Mountain, Strahan and more.

    • Shutterbug Walkabouts know you only have limited time in port, so if you book in advance, they will meet you at the cruise terminal, take you out sightseeing and photographing some of their favourite locations and return you to the cruise terminal for timely re-embarkation as per your cruise schedule. Tours can be customised to suit your interests and the time that you would like to spend on tour. It is suggested you take a tour of four or six hours duration - this often allows for personal time in Hobart city to wander around the historic Salamanca and Battery Point precinct before returning to your ship. Tours will depart at approximately 0830 local time or in the case of later scheduled arrival times, 30 minutes after your ship arrives. Please complete an enquiry form on Shutterbug Walkabout's website to advise your interests and the duration of tour you wish to do. Your hosts will respond with further information to assist you in your choice. If you are in port overnight you may also be interested in the Twilight Photography Tour or a longer full day tour as your schedule allows. Price on application.

    • Travel to Richmond through the Coal River Valley - one of the earliest regions to be settled outside of Hobart. Hear from your guide about the captivating history of Richmond and experience a glimpse of what life may have been like during Tasmania's colonial era. Enjoy a fully guided sightseeing and photography tour around the village to explore some of Australia's oldest buildings, including convict built Richmond Bridge and Richmond Gaol. With a photographer's eye and camera in your hand the photo opportunities are plentiful. We help you capture unique photographs of the scenes, features, textures and patterns that depict a stark colonial past.

    • In contrast to photography workshops taken indoors in a classroom environment, Shutterbug Walkabouts takes you outdoors for a practical learning experience. The focus is to develop your skills and techniques to enhance your photography in a relaxed 'learn by doing' style and maybe even change the way you take your photos. No matter what you level of knowledge is already you will gain so much from the experience and putting your new-found knowledge into practice. Visit the website of Shutterbug Walkabouts for detailed information for each of the options available and take advantage of a no obligation pre-booking consultation to help you decide on the best experience to suit you and your photography goals.
