Mt. Wellington from South Hobart
This beginner-friendly guided bike ride is the best way to experience the magnificence of Hobart's Mt. Wellington. Starting at the South Hobart office, riders collect their hire bike and helmet. Next, they hop on a shuttle bus and are taken on a delightful drive to the summit of Mt. Wellington. After a brief stop-off at the summit to take in the incredible views, riders have the option to ride the thrilling summit road descent or descend on the bus. After descending the summit road, guests reboard the bus and are driven to the next trail - the Pipeline Track. This easy-to-ride, off-road nature trail meanders gently down through Mt Wellington's temperate rainforest. Along the way experience towering eucalyptus, duck under giant ferns, visit a waterfall, pass under historic aqueducts, gaze into crystal clear babbling streams, and catch a glimpse of some curious local wildlife. The tour lasts approx 4 hours and finishes at the office of Tasmanian Mountain Bike Adventures. Guests need to be comfortable on a bike with good basic bike handling skills. A low level of fitness is needed as the ride is pretty much downhill all the way. This tour has vehicle support and a trail guide.
