The Alexander Hotel offers budget hotel accommodation in Devonport, on Tasmania's Central North Coast. Devonport is a one-hour-fifteen-minute drive west of Launceston (101 km) and a one-hour drive from the Cradle Mountain National Park (83 km). The Alexander Hotel, a member of the Goodstone group of properties, is located beside the Mersey River, close to the Spirit of Tasmania ferry terminal. Dormitory accommodation for backpackers is available with shared bathrooms, kitchen and common areas. You can enjoy a drink in the Hotel's traditional public bar and lounge bar or visit the gaming lounge. There is live entertainment some weekends and you can choose from the affordable, quality bar menu. Nearby attractions include Cradle Mountain National Park, in Tasmania's World Heritage Area, and Narawntapu National Park, known for its abundant wildlife. You can explore north coast beaches and watch fairy penguins return to their burrows at dusk, or sample fine Tasmanian produce at a local cheese maker, vineyard, or chocolate factory.
