Alexandria Bed and Breakfast

Alexandria is a gracious Federation style home built from 1905 on the banks of the Inglis River 1.5 km from the Town Centre of Wynyard and Burnie Airport, in North West Tasmania. Offering services of High Teas, Lunches, Garden Parties, Community Events/Fundraisers, Corporate Meetings and Wedding ceremonies for small groups situated on a historic piece of land dating back to the 1850's. They can cater up to 14 people for high teas (minimum per booking is 10), lunches and corporate meetings. For garden parties and community events they can cater for a maximum of 30 people. The number of guests for wedding ceremonies is 30-40 people. Forward bookings (minimum 1 month notice) are essential. Available days for functions are Friday, Saturday and Sunday only, pending availability. They can only cater for vegetarian and gluten free only for dietary requirements / allergies - extra charges may apply.

This winter, Goldie Street transforms after dark — a glowing stretch of firelight, flavour, live music and magic. From 6pm, Gather & Glow Night Market brings the best of the town into the open air. Local restaurants and food vendors will serve up hearty winter dishes, musicians will fill the night with song, and fire pots will line the street, casting a warm welcome to all who wander by. Explore pop-up experiences, meet the makers and creatives behind the buzzing local businesses, and lose yourself in the little surprises tucked into every corner. Goldie Street will be alive with stories, connection, and the shared spirit of winter. Layer up, head out, and let the night draw you in. Stay tuned — there's more warmth, wonder, and whimsy to come. Accessibility: Goldie Street will be closed to traffic, but street parking is available nearby. The area features wide paths and accessible walking spaces. Gutteridge Gardens will be open for picnicking and play. Additional street lighting will be provided by the Council for visibility and safety. A great place to relax, recharge and rejuvenate, Richard Gutteridge Gardens is a beautifully maintained and picturesque open garden set alongside the Inglis River, incorporating the Wynyard Wharf area. The Gardens are the starting point for many gentle walking tracks that can be enjoyed by all ages and abilities, including over 8km along the River Walk. The Gardens also connect onto the Coastal Pathway which you can walk, run and cycle along. Seating areas along the garden's foreshore are great places to pause and reflect while the wharf area includes a recreational pontoon - perfect for fishing when the tide is right.
