Twamley Twitching is a small-group birding and nature experience that invites you to slow down, look up and discover the remarkable birdlife of Twamley Farm. Join fifth-generation farmer Alistair Turvey for a leisurely walk through the farm's paddocks, bushland and marshlands, exploring private landscapes and learning about the birds, farming, conservation and family stories that make this place unique. More than birdwatching, Twamley Twitching is about noticing — taking time to listen, observe and connect with the natural world. With more than 50 bird species recorded across Twamley's diverse habitats, including at least 7 of Tasmania's 12 endemic species, there is plenty to discover. Begin with tea, coffee and homemade cake at the homestead before heading out with binoculars and field guides. Your experience concludes with a farmhouse picnic in one of our favourite bushland settings , providing time to share stories, identify birds and simply enjoy the landscape. Whether you are an experienced birder or simply curious about nature, come and see Tasmania through the eyes of someone who has spent a lifetime noticing its wildlife.

Your experience concludes with the opportunity for a swim at the trout dam and a relaxing farmhouse picnic in one of our favourite bushland settings , providing time to share stories, identify birds and simply enjoy the landscape. Whether you are an experienced birder or simply curious about nature, come and see Tasmania through the eyes of someone who has spent a lifetime noticing its wildlife.

Twamley Farm in partnership with Gert & Ted offers a range of cooking class and lunch experiences by appointment. Learn to cook rustic Italian dishes, farmhouse French cuisine or local game to perfection. Gert from Gert & Ted will teach a range of dishes in a fun and relaxed environment. Cooking classes can be scheduled by appointment for a minimum of 6 guests. Classes start at $320 per person, all inclusive. After homemade cake, tea, coffee or a hot toddy of local gin or whisky on arrival, you will get busy helping to create a delectable three-course menu for lunch. When all the preparation is done, sit down to a delicious feast together. Each course will be matched with a glass of East Coast Tasmania wine. All recipes taught in the class will be provided in a take home gift pack so you can impress your friends and family with your cooking skills.
