Located on a large internal block five minutes drive from the township of Coles Bay, our property is home to 2 dwellings we've affectionately dubbed the Top Shack & and the Short Stack. The two can be booked either separately or together. Each have their own easily accessible parking spaces; arrival is via a longer than average gravel drive, most memorable for the long row of vibrant Kangaroo Paws lining it. The Short Stack is built into an inclined block & offers a garden view, sleeps 2 people in a queen bed, and is equipped with bathroom, living area, kitchenette, deck & parking. The Top Shack sleeps up to 6 people in 3 bedrooms. (2 x queen,1 x double) & features a full kitchen, 1.5 bath, 2 furnished decks & BBQ. Outlook from the main living areas is pleasing, lingering over Great Oyster Bay, from the Hazards, down the Freycinet Peninsula & across to Swansea. In both places, the most frequent comments we hear from guests is about the quiet. The short stack is built into the earth, the Top Shack windows are double glazed & both buildings are enthusiastically insulated which creates a sense of still peacefulness. A place to feel like you've truly escaped.

Hazards Escape is located on a large internal block five minutes drive from the township of Coles Bay and is comprised of two separate dwellings (side by side) which we've affectionately dubbed the "Top Shack" and the "Short Stack". The Short Stack is the original Hazards Escape, a tidy, fully self-contained little unit that sleeps two guests and has been a popular choice with visitors for about 15 years. Built into an inclined block, it is beautifully quiet, offers a garden view, sleeps a maximum of 2 people in a queen bed, and is equipped with its own bathroom, living area, kitchenette, deck and off-street parking. Located just a few minutes drive from the entrance of Freycinet National Park, the Short Stack is a perfect base for a single person or a couple to explore the wonders of Freycinet

The outlook from the main living areas is serenely pleasing, lingering out towards Great Oyster Bay, from the Hazards, down the Freycinet Peninsula & across to Swansea. Featuring a full kitchen, 1.5 bath, furnished front & back decks & BBQ, it is definitely more a home than a holiday unit.

The Freycinet Paddle tour is the ultimate way to experience the Freycinet area. You paddle below the pink granite mountains, The Hazards, and across clear blue waters, explore pristine beaches, and secluded coves and peer beneath the surface to the amazing marine life below. You will also learn tales of shipwrecked whalers, early settlers and French explorers. Travelling by sea kayaks allow us to slowly explore the coastline, passing quietly by wildlife such as majestic sea eagles. The tour includes some the secrets of Freycinet: Honeymoon Bay, the Fisheries and the old Quarry. Enjoy morning or afternoon tea at one of the beaches that line this pristine coast, all in the relaxed company of a small group and an expert local guide. The beauty of the contrasting landscape combined with the area’s rich history will allow you to feel the true essence of Freycinet.

Freycinet Adventures offer award winning guided sea kayak tours on the Freycinet Peninsula on Tasmania's east coast. This is undeniably Tasmania's greatest destination for sea kayaking. The relaxed tour is the ultimate way to experience Freycinet National Park. The contrasts are stunning - pink granite mountains, pristine sandy beaches and blue waters so clear you feel you can touch the marine life below, a true sea kayaking paradise. No experience is necessary and tours are suitable for those over 7 years old. Your ATV Adventure departs from stunning Coles Bay on the East coast of Tasmania and gateway to the Freycinet Peninsula. Tours begin with a half-hour training session to learn the basics of riding the ATV buggies, including safe handling and riding techniques. From here your guide takes you on an unforgettable journey through the coastal forest along fire trails to either of two stunning destinations. Ride to south Friendly beaches, a pristine white sandy beach that can otherwise only be accessed by foot or by four-wheel drive. Or travel through boulder-strewn valleys to Bluestone Bay and then on to admire the Coastal Cliffs surrounding Cape Tourville Lighthouse. Our exhilarating Half-day Explorer includes both destinations plus an appetizing lunch. We place a strong emphasis on interpretative tours of the National Park and pride ourselves on providing our clients with a full appreciation of this magnificent coastal environment with its rich cultural, historical, and environmental heritage. Tours operate year-round. This is a great all-weather activity and on the rare chance it is raining, wet weather gear will be provided if required.
