Chauncy Vale Wildlife Sanctuary, was established in 1946 and is one of the oldest private conservation areas in Tasmania. It was inspiration and home to Nan Chauncy - A multi award winning author of children's adventure novels. Nan's writing captured a vivid picture of the Tasmanian landscape, it's people and it's living creatures that were "real" life, not the mechanisation and gadgets of modern society. She wrote to share her love of Tasmania- Her island shaped like a heart. Chauncy Vale Wildlife Sanctuary, a 415 hectare reserve linked by a walking track to Flat Rock Reserve (455 ha), is visited by bushwalkers, bird watchers, field naturalist groups, families, groups and school parties. With it's enchanting natural environment, heritage, culture and history, Chauncy Vale has shared a role in creating many meaningful experiences for several generations of Tasmanian schools, families, individuals and community groups. There are a range of walks available which lead to points of interest such as Brown's Cave, Eve's Bath, Guvy's Lagoon and Flat Rock lookout. There are several areas suitable for picnics and gatherings, with toilets, BBQs & picnic facilities, and a meeting room available for booking.

Old Kempton Distillery is located in an 1840s mansion called Dysart House, in the picturesque colonial town of Kempton. A comfortable 40-minute drive from Hobart and 2hrs from Launceston. The Distillery offers a range of tasting flights including Whisky, Gin and Liqueurs. They have a range of tour options and an all-day Cafe. The Cellar Door is full of locally made produce, including Olde Spikey Bridge Peanut Butter, Tasmanian Kitchen Pantry, and Port Arthur Lavender Farm products. A fresh, home-cooked menu is available, including the popular Devonshire Tea made fresh daily, house-made whisky beef pies, and antipasto platters. They also have cocktails, espresso coffee, hot chocolate, and milkshakes. Please feel free to contact us about group bookings by emailing ahead. They cater to functions from 8 people to 40 and love to make their day special to them in any way they can. The distillery is only a short 1-min drive off the Midlands Highway with plenty of parking for vehicles of all sizes, including buses and camper vans. They have a Distiller Experience to teach you all things distilling, and you can even purchase and mature your own 20L barrel of whisky!

Nestled in northern Campania in Tasmania's Coal River Valley, SISU Wines spans 95 hectares of gently undulating farmland. Since 2021, under the stewardship of owner and vigneron Jake Sheedy, the site has been thoughtfully transformed into a 25-hectare mosaic vineyard. Guided by a simple philosophy — to grow exceptional fruit and tread softly in our craft — SISU is deeply committed to mindful farming and long-term land stewardship. Every decision, from vineyard management to winemaking, is grounded in respect for place and an unwavering belief in doing things well, and doing them slowly. In December 2025, SISU opened its architecturally designed cellar door, a calm and considered space set among the vines. Open Thursday to Monday, the cellar door offers guided wine flights showcasing estate-grown wines, alongside wine by the glass or bottle and a selection of shared bites. With both indoor and outdoor seating, the space is designed for long, unhurried tastings and relaxed afternoons. Wine club members also enjoy exclusive access to winery and vineyard tours, offering a deeper connection to the land, the process, and the people behind each bottle.
