Lakeside Tourist Caravan Park

The Tasmanian Arboretum is a 66 hectare botanical tree park and nature reserve in Tasmania's North West. A great place to enjoy trees of the temperate world, wildlife, including platypus (we are the best place in Australia to view them in the wild) and native birds, with over 80 species having been recorded. Come for a few hours or the whole day to explore and relax. Only 12 kilometres from Devonport and a short drive to Sheffield, the town of murals. The Arboretum is set in a peaceful and beautiful valley, offering picnic shelters, two with coin-operated electric barbecues, and a platypus observatory and bird hide on the shore of Founders' Lake. Cultural and natural heritage combine in the Limestone Heritage Walk, a self-guided walk linking the geology with a century of human activity contributing to colonial and national development. Guided walks are available for a reasonable cost and can be booked online. Bookings are essential. We are open every day of the year - 9:00 am to 8:00 pm during daylight saving and 9:00 am to 5:00 pm the rest of the year.

Spreyton Cider Co. produces premium Tasmanian ciders made from our own apples. Our Cidery located on our working orchards in Spreyton offers tastings, allowing visitors to try a selection of ciders and ginger beer and receive a glass or stubby of their favourite. We are serious about real cider made from real apples and have recently picked up Gold, Silver and Bronze awards at the 2021 Australian Cider Awards. The cellar door is open 7 days except for public holidays, is conveniently located 10 minutes from Devonport all our ciders, ginger beers and non-alcoholic beverages are available, as well as other locally crafted beers and spirits. There is a restaurant on site offering café style meals, open Wednesday to Sunday with kids playground and plenty of space to stretch your legs.

Simon Martin Whips and Leathercraft is a one-of-a-kind shop and a great place for the whole family. Nowhere else in Tasmania will you be able to see Australian Stockwhips and Saddles made right under the one roof. Simon, along with his wife Sophie, has built a team of craftsmen and a range of leather products that people come from all over the world to buy. There is a large collection of whips from around the world and you can watch their master craftsmen at work. The retail shop offers a huge range of products which includes well known Australian brands like Akubra & RM Williams. Don't miss this unique experience while in Tasmania.
