Holm Oak is a labour of love for Bec and Tim Duffy. Since 2006 they have followed their dream of crafting delicious expressions of cool-climate Tasmanian wines, with many accolades along the way, including a revered James Halliday Five Star Winery rating. With Bec as the winemaker and Tim the viticulturist, their complementary skills provide a vision to produce delicious wines that reflect their home - Tasmania's pristine Tamar Valley; and their own personalities – honest, down to earth, genuine and authentic. Holm Oak offers two wine flight tasting experiences at their cellar door. The 'Choose Your Own Adventure Wine Flight', which allows visitors to choose four wines from a selection of nine to create their own wine tasting experience, and the Pinot Noir wine flight, which showcases the 5 different styles of Pinot Noir that they make. There is also the option to choose a bottle of wine and select from a range of tasty local cheeses and small goods available for 'a create your own' platter or picnic, which can be enjoyed overlooking the vineyards. Of course, no visit to Holm Oak is complete without checking in with (self-appointed) General Manager Pinot (the Pig) Junior and his sidekick, Mayonnaise. Don't forget about the winery dogs though – Nyah and Bella will be happy to greet you at the cellar door!

The vineyard itself has been producing excellent cool climate wines for more than 25 years. The grape varieties that are grown are Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon, Gewürztraminer, Riesling, Pinot Meunier and Pinot Noir on 10 hectares of land. The cellar door is run from a century old cottage adjacent to the vineyard. The beautiful old home has many gorgeous features, including Art Nouveau interior timber elements, fireplaces in every room and a peaceful garden with hundred-year-old trees. Designed by Alexander North for his son, the little cottage has some unique characteristics and will continue to delight visitors as it has done for more than 100 years.
