Come and Play in our History! Step back in time at the Beaconsfield Mine & Heritage Centre, where history comes alive through a captivating array of interactive experiences. Discover a different story around every corner as you push buttons, pull levers, crawl through tunnels, and search for hidden animals. Immerse yourself in the vibrant past of Beaconsfield and the Tamar Valley with hands-on exhibits that let you touch, feel, and engage with over 1000s of fascinating artifacts. We recommend spending at least 90 minutes to fully explore the Centre, though you may want to stay longer, lost in the enchanting tales of yesteryear. Be prepared for an adventure, as sections of the Heritage Centre occupy an industrial ruin site that is outdoors and exposed to the elements.

Miner's Gold Brewery is a Microbrewery established in the old Chief Engineers house that was once part of the Beaconsfield Gold Mine. The house has been restored with the addition of a Microbrewery and commercial kitchen offering paired food and beer combinations. Our menu is based on a paddock to plate theme supporting local producers. Visitors can view and see the brewery in operation and can participate in interactive tours with a tour guide and taste the raw ingredients and gain an understanding of beer manufacturing with a tasting paddle option. The bar offers a range of different beers as well as local wines and spirits.

All around the world, crowds gather to admire our seahorses in famous aquariums. But you can get much closer to these mysterious creatures at our completely unique facility at Beauty Point, in the beautiful Tamar Valley, less than a one-hour drive from Launceston or Devonport. Your 45-minute tour commences in "The Cave" which is home to a selection of seahorses and sea dragons. Here you will learn about seahorses and their mysterious behaviour. We then move into "The Farm" where you get an exclusive 'behind the scenes look at Australia's only working seahorse farm. This is where we feed the seahorses and you can see thousands of them in all stages of life from tiny fingernail-sized babies to the larger breeding adults. Our final room is "The Southern Ocean Aquarium" where we showcase some of the bizarre and mystical creatures found in Tasmanian waters. In this room, you’ll also have the opportunity to get hands-on and touch some of the creatures from the deep as well as hold a seahorse in the palm of your hand. Get your cameras ready!
