Rocky Hills Retreat offers boutique accommodation in Rocky Hills, near Swansea on Tasmania's East Coast.
Rocky Hills Retreat is a contemporary intimate retreat for two people, set high on a hill South of Swansea overlooking the beautiful Great Oyster Bay and Maria Island.
The retreat, designed by award-winning Australian architect Craig Rosevear, is surrounded by 250 acres of Tasmanian bush. It comprises a single open space featuring a luxurious king size bed, a well-equipped kitchen, modern bathroom, laundry facilities and living area with wood fire and gas heating. A custom built Huon pine bath sits outside on the deck.
Delightful breakfast provisions are provided and a fully-stocked mini bar means you don't have to leave the property. There are gourmet meals available from Wurthaus Kitchen. Alternatively, you are welcome to bring your own provisions or eat at some of the well-known local restaurants like the amazing Waterloo Inn.
Rocky Hills Retreat is a 90 minute drive north of Hobart and around the same time south-east of Launceston. Nearby is Freycinet National Park, fantastic local vineyards, oyster farms to visit or the best strawberries, jams and ice-cream at Kate's Berry Farm.

The beautiful Huon Pine bath tub out on the evening deck smells delightful, and we provide a custom designed unique range of organic skin care products hand made and formulated in Tasmania. Rocky Hills Retreat’s bed will be waiting for you. It’s very luxurious and covered in linen layers of comfort surrounding you. You could always lift the veil of Rocky Hills Retreat and go back to the other world, visit the local vineyards, the delights of Swansea, and the Freycinet Peninsula – however, it seems as though people just never want to leave.
