The Winged House offers luxury self-contained accommodation at Table Cape on Tasmania's North West Coast. The Winged House has been designed by award-winning architect Richard Goodwin and offers a gourmet kitchen, laundry, Japanese bath, digital television, DVD and hi-fi system, internet access, and barbecue facilities. The house is only ten minutes from Burnie/Wynyard regional airport serviced daily from Tullamarine, Melbourne, with interstate and international connections. The Winged House is within easy reach of World Heritage Gondwana old growth forests, trout fishing, short walks, wineries, golf, gardens and kayaking.

Two ensuite bedrooms with tatami mats and futons for extra guests

The master bedroom at The Winged House has ocean views, a spacious ensuite bathroom with Japanese bath, also with ocean views. The bathroom comes with romantic candles and generous body wash, shampoo and conditioner dispensers. There's a private book lined study with a PC for internet browsing. This room has a Japanese teak bed with luxury mattress and 1000 thread linen and fluffy towels, washers and slip-on slippers. (There's also a laundry in the bathroom behind high glossy bi-fold doors). The second bedroom also with ensuite is adorned in art. Japanese tatami mats with futons (mattresses) and donnas can be assembled in the lookout for extra guests.

Wynyard

Alexandria is a gracious Federation style home built from 1905 on the banks of the Inglis River 1.5 km from the Town Centre of Wynyard and Burnie Airport, in North West Tasmania offering services of High Teas, Lunches, Garden Parties, Community Events/Fundraisers, Corporate Meetings and Wedding ceremonies for small groups situated on a historic piece of land dating back to the 1850's. We can cater up to 14 people for high teas (minimum per booking is 10), lunches and corporate meetings. For garden parties and community events we can cater for a maximum of 30 people. Number of guests for wedding ceremonies is 50-60 people. Forward bookings are essential.

Lobster Ponds Haven

Flowerdale

The Lobster Ponds is a tourist and educational destination providing information about the endangered and threatened freshwater lobster, listed as the largest in the world. You will have a guided tour of the ponds which is set in amongst Tasmania's trees. Enjoy a coffee from our café, serving light refreshments overlooking the beautiful Flowerdale hills and valleys. Our current project involves constructing a bird aviary to house orange bellied parrots which like the lobster is critically endangered.
