On the crabtree Rivulet
The river flows all year
All sites are bordered by native shrubs for added privacy.
White gums or Eucalyptus Viminalis border the camping area
another great spot to sit and enjoy the sounds of the river.
Valley Campground is in the Huon valley situated on the Crabtree Rivulet just 25 minutes drive south of Hobart. Campsites are comprised of varying sized private alcoves bordered by native shrubs. Tasmanian wildlife is in abundance including a platypus in the river, resident echidna, quolls, bandicoots, wallabies and padymelons. Wedge-tailed eagles often fly down the valley, goshawks, sulphur-crested black cockatoos, Tasmanian thornbills, fairy-wrens, pardalotes and many more small birds frequent the surrounding forest. Valley Campground is the perfect stepping stone for visitors exploring the pristine Tasmanian south. Whilst suited to self contained campers and motor homes with powered sites available, there are also unpowered sites for cycling travellers and those in tents. Imagine istening to the river run by, cuddled up by a fire pot under a star filled sky planning the next days' adventure in beautiful Southern Tasmania!
