Embrace the Tasman Region for 'A Natural Escape' - Celebrate all that nature has to offer physically, environmentally and culturally. 'A Natural Escape' is an all-ages festival created by the Tasman Council to celebrate and share the Tasman region's connection to nature, conservation, outdoor activities, local culture, art and community. Over a three-week period, over 50 nature-inspired activities and workshops will foster sustainable tourism and community engagement. From nature walks to fabulous talks and a bit of art making, there's sure to be something for everyone. 'A Natural Escape' highlights all the beauty and wonder that makes the Tasman region in Lutruwita /Tasmania a leading eco-tourism destination.

Perched on hilltop with sweeping views over the Tasman Peninsula and beyond, Premaydena Hill is a family owned and operated winery and beef cattle farm. Owners Daniel and Ella Kelleher have lovingly restored the old farmhouse cottage (their former home) into a cosy and welcoming cellar door. Enjoy fresh oysters, decadent cheese platters, wine tastings and more. Bookings not required, but appreciated for large groups.

Join Tasmanian landscape and astrophotographer Luke Tscharke for an accessible introduction to photographing the night sky at McHenry Distillery. The session will cover camera setup, composition, focusing in the dark, and practical shooting under the stars, with the twilight period used for a short indoor briefing before heading outside. After a break for hot chocolates, the evening will continue with an Astronomy presentation by Bill McHenry. Sunset to Stars Astrophotography workshop is one of the many activities in the A Natural Escape program, 9 to 31 October 2026.
