Concerto for Classical Accordion | Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra

An abstract image showing a section of an accordion and a man gesturing with his hand.
Enjoy the TSO's last Series concert for the year, starring outrageously talented Scottish accordionist James Crabb. He's performing a brand new work by Australian composer Holly Harrison, who is known for her rock-inspired, funk-influenced work. Crabb then turns his attention to a favourite work by tango composer Astor Piazzolla: Libertango. The concert opens with Aaron Copland's Pulitzer Prize-winning Appalachian Spring. On the podium is Benjamin Northey, whose mid-performance cricket catch on his last TSO visit went viral. Who knows what he'll get up to this time? This concert features informative (and often humorous) commentary from TSO viola player William Newbery.
