JOAN ROSS | 'HAVE WE GOT EVERYTHING' | EXHIBITION

Vase with flowers. Except that the flowers are portraits of faces taken from historical paintings.
Bett Gallery is thrilled to present Joan Ross' highly anticipated exhibition 'Have we got everything'. This will be Joan's seventh major exhibition with the gallery. Join us for opening night: Friday the 24th of October, 2025, 5.30-7pm Level 1, 65 Murray Street, Hobart Joan asks the pertinent question... is having 'all the trappings' still revered or has our settler culture relaxed its privileged sense of entitlement? Have we finally stopped collecting the things uncollectable? Or will our colonial efforts to possess Australia just go on ad infinitum... Winner of the 2017 Sulman Prize at the AGNSW and a three-time Archibald finalist, Joan's work is held in countless major public collections. Most recently her work was presented in a major solo exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery, Canberra. Stay in touch or sign up for our mailing list to receive advance previews of our exhibitions: https://www.bettgallery.com.au/mailing-list/ *This month, we're asking for a gold coin donation at the bar to support Hobart City Mission, which provides emergency shelter for those in need in our community.
