The Way to St James Cygnet Pilgrimage

A walking pilgrim stopping to appreciate one of the scenes experienced during this walking event.
Inspired by the famous Spanish El Camino de Santiago, this well-established annual two-day pilgrimage is a semi-challenging walking journey through the beautiful Huon Valley. Starting at Mountain River walking on public roads, with special permission also crossing 4 private properties to take advantage of the most scenic views, through to the Ranelagh Showgrounds for an overnight stay. Camping is optional and included in ticket prices, or participants can choose to seek their own private options. Pilgrims will end the approximately 30km walk on day 2, by joining with performers from the Cygnet Folk Festival to sing (optional) and walk the last stretch into St James' Church, Cygnet for the Final Ritual and Farewells.
