Tahune Adventures - Visitor Centre and Cafe

Tahune Adventures Lodge and Cabin are located an 80 minute drive south of Hobart in Southern Tasmania. Set amongst the tall trees around the famous Tahune Airwalk, ideal for all visitors wishing to experience the pristine forest overnight on the edge of the World Heritage area. Accommodation in the Lodge includes eight rooms including two bunk rooms (sleeps four), two family rooms with double bed below and single bed on top, two triple rooms with a single bed and a set of bunks (sleeps three) and two rooms with Queen bed, accessible by wheelchair. The central hub of the Lodge offers a fireplace, a television and selection of movies, books and free Wi-Fi, a dining area and a fully equipped kitchen with complimentary tea and coffee. The shared bathroom facilities offer 3 showers and 3 separate toilets. The Tahune Cabin offers private, self-catering accommodation for up to four people. The cabin has two bedrooms, one with queen bed and another with a set of bunk beds. Porta cot is available on request. There is a fully-equipped kitchen, bathroom, lounge area and television/movies. Check-in is 2pm and check-out is 10am.

Rivers Edge Wilderness Camping is a grassy retreat beside the beautiful Russell River in Lonnavale, 30 mins from Huonville. Relax at one of the 70 tranquil campsites on or near the banks of the river, lined with trees and easy access to the water. These sites are all very large and will accommodate from three vans or tents, right up to eight vans, plenty of space for a bit of privacy on your own or to sit around the campfire with friends. The river's deep swimming holes are perfect for a swim in summer and offer great fishing spots for trout and blackfish. Also see wild platypus in the river. The surrounding mature white gum forest is home to abundant birdlife and the valley hosts pairs of wedged tail eagles and are often seen souring high above the campground. The grounds are flat for easy access with plenty of public open space to kick a football, play cricket or ride pushbikes or to just relax in the communal shelter or around the provided fire pots on each site. Surrounding bushlands are great for exploring and is just a short 30 minute drive to fabulous eateries.

Port Huon Cottages offer self-contained accommodation at Port Huon in Southern Tasmania. All accommodation at Port Huon Cottages are designed around the spectacular views over the Huon River and the Hartz Mountains. The cottages are self-contained, private and have balconies, all with fantastic water and mountain views. We have a total of 9 cottages available and can offer guests a choice of one and two bedroom cottages – including a spa cottage. Port Huon Cottages are located in the centre of the Huon Valley on the banks of the beautiful Huon River with major attractions such as the Tahune Forest Airwalk, Hastings Caves and Thermal Pool, as well as many boutique wineries all within approximately a one-hour drive from your cottage door. It is also perfectly situated for easy access to the Hartz Mountain National Park and the World Heritage listed South West Wilderness Area.
