Tarkine Fresh Oysters prides itself in serving the freshest possible oysters you will ever taste. Nestled on the coast of Smithton the oysters are grown in some of the cleanest air and water in the world. The retail outlet is open weekdays from 9am - 5pm for fresh takeaway oysters, unless sold out! Our seated dining is available 10am to 3pm and our menu provides many oyster options to enjoy with either Tasmanian Wine, Craft Beer or a refreshing Cape Grim Water! Our award-winning oysters are grown just five minutes from the tasting center and shucked fresh daily. Whether you’re in the mood to enjoy natural oysters or baked, or try our creamy Seafood Chowder you will not be disappointed. There are plenty of options if you are just stopping on your way through and wish to take some ocean-fresh treats home with you, make sure you don’t miss the opportunity to experience Tarkine Fresh Oyster Farm and Café for yourself.
