Luxury Coral Sculpture Experience

Coral-inspired ceramic sculpture by Christie Lange, with branching blue forms, yellow textured fans,
The Luxury Coral Sculpture Experience invites participants to explore the extraordinary forms of coral through clay with artist Christie Lange in Binalong Bay on Tasmania's Bay of Fires. Across two small group sessions, create a substantial ceramic sculpture inspired by branching structures, folded edges, intricate cavities and rippling surfaces. With a maximum of five participants, there is time for individual guidance, experimentation and developing a design that reflects each maker's imagination. The first session offers an extended day of making in Christie's garden studio. Learn techniques for building strong sculptural forms, carving and adding expressive surface details. Pause for a gourmet grazing lunch, refreshments and conversation before returning to the clay. After the sculptures have dried and been bisque fired, participants return for a second session to explore colour and decoration. Christie then completes the final firing, with finished artworks available for collection approximately six to eight weeks later. Designed for confident beginners and intermediate makers aged twelve and over, this experience suits those seeking time to develop their sculptural skills. Some previous clay experience is recommended. Both sessions, personal tuition, clay, tools, reference materials, decorating materials and kiln firings are included, alongside refreshments and lunch during the first session.
