Westbury Town Common

Westbury Town Common
The Westbury Town Common is a flood plain that blends natural environments with open grassed spaces. Complete with views to Quamby Bluff, it provides easy walking to a central barbeque area and picturesque sites along Quamby Brook. Dogs on leads are welcome. Many native plants and animals inhabit the Town Common, even some endangered species. Examples of resident-threatened fauna are the Eastern Barred Bandicoot and the Green and Gold Frog. You may also note the purple loosestrife in the brook and slender water pepper in the drainage lines – both of them threatened species. Platypus are common in Quamby Brook, and birds known to visit the brook include owls and goshawks. Photo: copyright 2020 Jade Austen All rights reserved.
