The Overland Adventure

The Du Cane Range with golden fagus at its base and a light dusting of snow on top.
Cradle Mountain Helicopters offer scenic tours over the Cradle Mountain - Lake St Clair National Park and beyond. The Overland Adventure flight is a 60-minute experience that traverses the Cradle Mountain - Lake St Clair National Park. We take off from our helipad in the Pencil Pine Village, and head south past the beautiful Cradle Mountain with Dove Lake and Crater Lake tucked at its foot. We then travel over the depths of the wild Fury Gorge and past Barn Bluff. From here, we continue our southward trek, and passengers are provided with views of Mount Ossa, Lees Paddocks, the Du Cane Range and The Walls of Jerusalem National Park amongst many other things. The Land of A Thousand Lakes is a particularly spectacular sight to behold. We continue over rugged Tasmanian bushland until we come into sight of Lake St Clair, the deepest lake in Australia. At the far end of the lake, we make a turn and head north again, past the countless mountains and valleys of the National Park until we reach our helipad once again. Please note that all of our flights are subject to suitable flying weather.
