Franklin River Rafting 9 day expedition
Lyell Highway and finishing at Sir John Falls on the Gordon River. From there, you'll board the Stormbreaker for the final journey down the Gordon River, across Macquarie Harbour and into Strahan. On our 9-day expeditions, weather and river conditions permitting, we also attempt the summit of Frenchmans Cap. Rising to 1,443 metres, this iconic Tasmanian peak is normally reached on a five-day bushwalk, making the summit a unique addition to the rafting expedition. Along the way, you'll experience the crystal-clear waters of Irenabyss, the immense Great Ravine and Rock Island Bend, made famous by Peter Dombrovskis' iconic photograph that helped bring the Franklin River campaign to the world. More than 40 years after the Franklin River campaign secured protection for the river and surrounding area, this remarkable landscape continues to inspire people from around the world. It's an expedition of whitewater, wild country, great camps and shared adventure — and a chance to experience the Franklin River from beginning to end.
