Franklin River Rafting 9 day expedition
This expedition follows the full length of the Franklin River, beginning at Collingwood Bridge on the Lyell Highway and finishing at Sir John Falls on the Gordon River. From here, you'll board the Stormbreaker for the final journey down the Gordon River, across Macquarie Harbour and into Strahan. On our 10-day expeditions, weather and conditions permitting, we also attempt the summit of Frenchmans Cap. Rising to 1,443 metres, this iconic Tasmanian peak is normally accessible only via a five-day bushwalk, making it a truly unique addition to your adventure. Along the way you'll experience the crystal-clear waters of Irenabyss, the awe-inspiring Great Ravine and the magnificent Rock Island Bend, made famous by Peter Dombrovskis' iconic photograph that helped save the Franklin River. More than 40 years after the Franklin River campaign secured its protection and the region became part of the Tasmanian Wilderness UNESCO World Heritage Area, this extraordinary landscape continues to inspire visitors from around the world. Come and experience one of Australia's greatest wilderness adventures with us.
