Advanced fly fishing

This tour is designed for the inexperienced as absolutely no experience necessary. On tour, we will provide you with an overview of fly fishing, line control and casting on grass with no hook. You then graduate to water casting tuition. Fishing, water craft, observation and presentation all included along with fish handling.

Raising the level of fly line control in casting and on-the-water fishing skills. Focus on stream craft and evaluation of lakes and lagoons, location choices, detailed fly selection, polaroiding, fish spotting, habitat observation, presentation, fishing approach and fish handling.

These are team building and social gatherings with a broad and interactive fly fishing theme. The use of a private fishing facility. BBQ, beverages and gourmet food luncheons.

Your guided trout fishing tour starts when we collect you from your accommodation at 9am. We will take you fishing, provide all fishing gear, lunch, refreshments, and coaching. We return you to your accommodation around 6 pm.

This is a hosted stay through Hipcamp, below is the information provided by the Host regarding their offering. Situated in the middle of Cressy, on an acre and a half of land. You are guaranteed a secure place to stay and enjoy a few days, whether it’s just resting before moving on or heading down to the local rivers for a fish. Cressy is Tasmania's only 'troutified' township as the local area is a mecca for fly fishing. the site is Dog-friendly. Visitors need to be fully self-contained with their own amenities. Guests must also be over 18 years old. Tents are not permitted. Gossy's Retreat's backyard is hidden from the street and offers amazing views of the mountains. Located 34 km southwest of Launceston, Cressy is a small, attractive, and historically significant town that came into existence in the 1850s to service the surrounding wheat farms.

Chatsworth is a luxury three-bedroom country homestead (1838) with a beautiful established private garden surrounded by paddocks and animals as well as views of The Great Western Tiers and Ben Lomond. Chatsworth is situated in The Northern Midlands, 6 km south of the heritage town of Longford. Close access to the farms' river where you can go fishing or simply enjoy a picnic or a walk and pick your own vegetables and fruit from the garden as you cook up a storm in the gorgeous country kitchen. The lovely three french doors lead you from a beautiful, spacious and light kitchen/dining/sitting area directly out to the covered verandah where you can sit and take in the view with a great book or enjoy a meal while overlooking the one hectare country garden. Chatsworth has its own little chook house where you can collect eggs and guinea fowls who are a delight to watch. Enjoy one bottle of Tasmanian produced wine on the house and if you need to open another bottle there is plenty to choose from in the pantry's bar fridge (extra fees apply)! .
