Bostane Cottage
Just a ten-minute walk to the city, Bostane Cottage is a quaint, quirky, private little cottage positioned high on the hill of West Hobart with a lovely view across the city to the Derwent River, which delivers magical sunrises you can see from your bedroom. Built circa 1860, it oozes character, and an eclectic mix of old and new styles blend beautifully to create a comfortable relaxing sanctuary, a great place to call home when visiting Hobart. The character starts before you walk in the door. The “ever so English” raised footpath leads you to the original cast iron gate, up stone steps bordered by a rambling cottage garden. Step inside to a hallway with unique walls made from hand-sawn cedar. This workmanship follows through to the main bedroom which is a generous size and includes a quirky split-level dressing area. The second bedroom has beautiful cedar floorboards and an open fireplace (not operational).A few steps take you up a level to the cosy living area, with reverse cycle air conditioning and a very comfortable couch, and a third single bedroom. There is a TV and Wi-Fi to keep you entertained and a kitted-out kitchen in which to whip up a feast with all that local Tassie produce you buy.
