At Spring Bay Distillery you will find a craft distillery on Tasmania's East Coast specialising in award winning Single Malt Whisky, Gin and Vodka. We use the location of the distillery to maximum advantage to blend our spirits with some of the sweetest waters available. We collect our rainwater from the roof of the distillery and filter out any impurities except the salt influence from Spring Bay that lands on the distillery daily. Being by the sea, the influence of this sea salt makes the water sweet and round in the mouth and combining this with the maturation of our barrels in the salt air we hope that our coastal style will be captured in our bottles. We offer tastings at our most picturesque location, in the company of maturing whisky barrels and our gin still, 'Beauty'. A short drive from the township of Orford, the lookout is up an unsealed local hill road with two great vistas at the top of the mountain. Glorious views of maria Island and its surrounds. A variety of flowering native plants at different times of the year. Great photo opportunities. A nice place to sit and eat a picnic lunch with ample parking and a hut for shelter.

The Winter Challenge Tasmania is a community focused multisport event held on Tasmania's pristine east coast on the 10th August 2025. 1 - Multisport. Competitors will kayak in pristine east coast waters, road cycle along coastal roads from beach to beach, mountain bike through some amazing Tasmanian forest, and trail run along beautiful coastal terrain. 2 - Egg and Spoon Racing National Championships. An all-accessible, community focused event. Cold is temporary, Egg and Spoon glory is forever! The Winter Challenge Tasmania is a family friendly event.
