This is an active day tour to one of Tasmania’s most well-known locations. To get the best experience from this tour you really cannot appreciate it fully without walking. As this is a guided tour your guide will select the best walk or walks, that in his/her experience, are the best option, taking into consideration the nature of the group and the prevailing weather conditions on the day. Once, we arrive at Dove Lake, easy access to food and drink is not available. As we want you to maximise your time in this area we will provide you with a suitable lunch and drink to carry with you which gives you the flexibility to eat when you get hungry. What could be a better place to eat your lunch with your family or new found friends than a picnic on the tranquil shores of Dove Lake or for more energetic the magnificent mountain vista from Marions Lookout on a perfect sunny Cradle Mountain Day.

The Great Tasmanian Traverse is a unique annual adventure combining Tasmanian and World Expeditions’ five most popular trips into an epic five-week expedition. Travelling by foot, raft, light plane and yacht, we cover Tasmania from the quiet rural communities of the North to the wild and isolated reaches of the South, completing the Coast to Cradle Trail, Overland Track, Frenchmans Cap Trek, Franklin River Rafting and South Coast Track.
