Ettrick Rocks - King Island

Located with panoramic views of Bass Strait is King Island's only lawn bowling green. The magnificent green is one part of the facilities of the King Island Golf and Bowling Club. All visitors are welcome to come along and have a roll. Whether you are a novice or an expert, all visitors are welcome. All bowling equipment is available.

Rated as the Number 1 nine hole golf course in Australia, the King Island Golf Course is the original links golf course developed on the island. Established in 1932 the course is a fantastic 9/18 Hole Links Golf Course overlooking Bass Strait. The golf course is a true links course and on a par with the Cape Wickham and Ocean Dunes Courses. The first two holes – a downhill, dogleg-right par-4 opener and the sweeping, uphill, dogleg-left par-4 second – are worthy of placement on any golf course. Players then stroll to the tee of the downhill par-3 third and are met with an expanse of crystal-blue ocean, the rocky shoreline and the emerald strips of the course. For the rest of the round, players are left amazed at the beauty of the ocean and the challenge of the course. Even if players don't have time to play a full 18 holes, a quick 9 hole round will give golfers an experience they won't forget.

Overlooking King Island's picturesque Currie Harbour, the Festival of King Island brings together brings together a bevy of folk/blues/country/rock/indie and pop talent. FOKI is where the artists come to have fun ... and so do we all. The 2026 lineup is still growing, but check out our first artists at: https://www.foki.com.au/artists/ Performers in the past have included Deborah Conway and Willy Zygier, Brian Ritchie (Violent Femmes), Kim Churchill, Caravana Sun, Fanny Lumsden, King Social, Dave and Brad (Hoodoo Gurus), The Getaway Plan, Bobby Alu, Andrew Swift, Gretta Ziller, Wanderers, Boo Seeka, Benjalu, Shaun Kirk, Clare-Anne Taylor, Laura Hill, The Spindrift Saga, The Saxons, Simon Astley and many many more who mix it up close and personal with Australia's friendliest bunch of folks. The festival starts Friday 5pm and includes yoga and fun activities for kids on the Saturday morning. Add into the mix the island's great cheese, beef and seafood and its great surf, dive and beachcombing beaches, as well as a couple of Australia's best golf courses and you are likely to find all your sensations tingling by the end of the festival weekend. It's all great fun, family-friendly, casual and relaxed.
