South East Charters

Orford $550 - $800

South East Charters offers tailored half or full day game, estuary or deep sea fishing tours departing from Orford, Dunalley or Eaglehawk Neck. All fishing equipment is supplied. All tours operate subject to weather conditions. Tours depart around 7 am to 7.30 am and return around 1.30 pm or 3.30 pm. Meals are not included.

Old Convict Road Orford - Walk

Orford

Beginning immediately after crossing the bridge at Orford, the Old Convict Road trail follows the northern side of the Prosser River for 1 km. This flat and easily accessible trail highlights rugged examples of Convict manual labour and structural ingenuity. Built between 1841 and 1855, this stretch of terraced road was used to service the Probation Station in Buckland now in ruins at the end of the track. Taking no longer than one hour to complete, this walk is a worthy addition to other local day walks such as the Three Thumbs Track.

Elly's Gourmet Confectionery opened the Tasting Table at Orford as a retail and tasting centre for it's unique, gluten free sweets and treats hand crafted in Cambridge, Tasmania. Elly's Tasting Table also offers quality Tasmanian products sourced from local artisans and businesses such as honeys, jams, candles, tea-towels and much more. A delightful cafe with great coffee, hot and cold pastries, cakes, all day breakfast, and gourmet Pide's, Elly's Tasting Table has it all, including a wonderful indoor and outdoor dining area and views of Maria Island. Situated conveniently on the highway, just over the bridge at Orford.
