Outscape Flinders Island

A weekly run (or walk), covering five km along a winding coastal track from Whitemark Wharf and back again. The aim is not to outrun everyone else, but to beat yourself, as each run is timed, and each new week presents you with the opportunity to beat your previous score. People from all levels of fitness are welcome. Though not necessary to participate in the run, in order to be timed it is recommended that you follow the web link and register, so as to receive the unique bar code that will allow you to keep track of your times and results.

Browse the Larder at The Flinders Wharf ‘The Larder’ is located at The Flinders Wharf in Whitemark. We have a range of meals, retail, wine, and dine-in options. These options have been specifically curated to for your convenience. The take-home meals include prepared meals using island ingredients, including Quoin Beef, wallaby, produce, fish, shellfish, and honey. The shop includes quality sparkling wine, beer, Furneaux Distillery gin and whisky, ice cream, sourdough, homewares, adventure gear, Quoin the Label linen, Killiecrankie Yacht Club merch and more.

On the Whitemark Esplanade, just before the exercise equipment, you'll find an area with a shaded gas BBQ and picnic tables. Available for day use, the gas for the BBQ is generously provided by Flinders Council. While a rainwater tank supplies freshwater for handwashing, bringing your own drinking water is recommended. The beach offers shallow, safe waters, making it an ideal spot for children, especially during mid to high tide when the water warms over the sand. Dogs are welcome, and there's plenty of beach to explore. For those interested in a longer walk, the Bluff Track offers a 5 km return journey along the foreshore, leading to Bluff Road. Spend the evening taking a sunset walk on the beach, building sandcastles, or collecting shells. Keep an eye out for Paper Nautilus Shells, or Argonauta nodosa, which wash ashore between March and June. Fishing enthusiasts can purchase bait at the local pub and try their luck catching squid or trevally off the jetty.
