Join Anna and her friends in learning the ancient art of basket weaving in a fun and relaxed creative space. All materials will be provided over the weekend of weaving as well as snacks, tea and coffee. Your weekend escape includes 1 nights stayover at Riverview at Ross - silver award winner in the 2024 Tasmanian Tourism Awards included in the cost of the workshop. You will join other beginners in learning how to coil and plait materials to make cordage for your basket creations - then your expert facilitators ( members of Tasmanian Basket Makers ) will guide you through making three different types of baskets Bring a friend or family member and make a weekend trip during the lovely winter off season and explore the midlands towns of Ross and Campbell Town with no high season crowds - there is plenty to see and experience here

Ross Painting Retreat - with Lee-Anne Peters Landscape & Old Church Painting 23+24 Aug 2025 We will focus our wanderings around the old Methodist Church (1885) - a short walk from our workshop location. Here you can photograph and sketch out your ideas and inspirations to take back to our cosy and warm workshop space to map out our composition and plan on canvas. Exploring colour, shape and lines you will apply some layers of paint and depending on your skill level and the time available, intricate detail can be added.
