ROOMS
The Ori Room image

The Ori Room

This room is called 'Ori' because this room is the original room - the cottage - built in 1840s. 'Ori' in Latin means 'rise', 'begin', 'appear'; or in Hebrew, it means 'my light' and therefore, this is the original light that rose, the beginning of Sherwood Loves Tasmania almost 200 years ago. This bedroom has a substantial double bed. Price is for two. This room has its own little lounge to relax in - an extra single bed can be put in (for an extra fee). It has views into the valley facing south. Two artists contribute to Ori that adds to the meaning of the space… Ruth Lange's 'Wall Spirit' is a painting of a sandstone wall in Sydney's The Rocks. The second artist, Jane Bennett, is a prolific, well awarded Australian artist who focuses on painting places and scenes that are vulnerable to urban development. The bathroom nearest The Ori Room is the downstairs bathroom in the main homestead. There is also a bathroom and two toilets in The Pavilion building. Booking The Ori Room gives you access to the fully stocked kitchenette, a continental breakfast bar from September to April, and an all-year round hot beverage bar.

The Pink Room image

The Pink Room

This master bedroom in The Homestead has a queen bed and two long single beds on either side. Price is for maximum two people, with each additional person an added cost. This bedroom has the stunning view to Mount Gatehouse. Every morning, the view is like a different painting. This room is dedicated to an artist, Sarah Pirrotina, whose work is out of this world. Sarah is from Geelong, Victoria, Australia. If there is a word for this room, it's 'Dreamy'. Sarah's work also adorns the dining room and lounge. The upstairs bathroom near The Pink Room is shared with the Yellow and Blue Rooms. If busy, there is a bathroom and two toilets at The Pavilion building for your use, too. Booking The Pink Room gives you access to the fully stocked kitchenette, a continental breakfast bar from September to April, and an all-year round hot beverage bar.

The Yellow Room image

The Yellow Room

This bedroom has a king bed. Price is for a maximum of two people. This bedroom has views into the garden – here you get an aerial view of every stepping-stone we have laid. This room is so bright and sunshiny like the artist we are dedicating this room to, Sha'an d'Anthes, aka Furry Little Peach from Sydney, Australia. Sha'an is a prolific artist, illustrator, designer and inspiring influencer. She is sunshine! The paintings on the walls were from Peachtober, where she would set a list of prompts, and thousands of artists would paint to it. If there is a word for this room, it's 'Peachy'. Sha'an has a gift for storytelling as seen in her children's books which are also in the room. The bathroom near The Yellow Room is shared with the Pink and Blue Rooms. If busy, there is a bathroom and two toilets at The Pavilion building for your use, too. Booking The Yellow Room gives you access to the fully stocked kitchenette, a continental breakfast bar from September to April, and an all-year round hot beverage bar.

The Blue Room image

The Blue Room

This bedroom has three long single beds; a base price for the room includes max 2 people; an additional person would be added cost. This bedroom has views to Mount Gatehouse, and also has a bay window seat. The artist we are dedicating this room to is Helen Dardik from Ottawa, Canada. Helen is a prolific artist, illustrator and designer. We love Helen's vibrant and folksy work, where humans, animals, and flowers/plants seem to intermingle; we could call this room 'Cosy'. The bathroom near The Blue Room is shared with the Pink and Yellow Rooms. If busy, there is a bathroom and two toilets in The Pavilion building for your use, too. Booking The Blue Room gives you access to the fully stocked kitchenette, a continental breakfast bar from September to April, and an all-year round hot beverage bar.

The Yin Room image

The Yin Room

There are two guest rooms in The Stable – one's The Yin Room, the other is The Yang Room; these more earthy and grounded styled rooms have their own entry. This master size bedroom has a king size bed, and a click clack king single sofa bed. The base price is for a maximum of two; an additional person would be an added cost. In these rooms, you will find historical pieces from the original stable re-installed back into the rooms. The beautiful 11.5m hand hewn beam, sitting on their original support beam, imbedded in the original plinth brings character to these rooms. The Yin Room is inspired by the divine feminine in all of us. The Yin Room has is softer, more feminine energy to its Yang counterpart, even though the portrait is of a female warrior. The Yin Room faces a rustic sheep shearing shed – you feel like you're in another place, another time. Both Yin and Yang Rooms share a toilet, and the bathroom access is at The Pavilion. Booking The Yin Room gives you access to the fully stocked kitchenette, a continental breakfast bar from September to April, and an all-year round hot beverage bar.

Gidget image

Gidget

Gidget is inspired by the book and TV series in the 50s-70s, about a little girl with big dreams. Gidget was their daughter's room for the time she lived with them at Sherwood Loves. Gidget is for those who want a unique 'room' - a sweet caravan experience - and still access the stunning beauty of the main property.Gidget has a cosy double bed and has its own little seated lounge inside and outside of the caravan. The Estate at Sherwood Loves Tasmania

Booking The Estate includes the following rooms: Ori, Pink, Yellow, Blue, Yin and Yang which sleeps up to 17 people. It does not include Gidget The Caravan. This can be booked additionally, increasing the number of guests to 25 pax. When you book The Estate, you have exclusive use of the massive deck that wrap arounds the building, with the stunning views on one side, and the gardens on the other, has nooks to allow people to have downtime away from the group. Enjoy the wonderful collection of art and sculptures that they've collected over the years which we have scattered around The Estate! In fact - the spaces were specially designed to house their meaningful art, quirky furniture and eclectic artefacts... a tail-wags-dog syndrome, chuckle. You have use of a chef's kitchen, the kitchenette and the dining spaces inside and out, as well as the beautiful lounge. These spaces are yours to enjoy exclusively - the owners will pop in and out to ensure breakfast re-stocking happens but generally leave your group to enjoy these spaces.
