The Alexander Hotel offers budget hotel accommodation in Devonport, on Tasmania's Central North Coast. Devonport is a one-hour-fifteen-minute drive west of Launceston (101 km) and a one-hour drive from the Cradle Mountain National Park (83 km). The Alexander Hotel, a member of the Goodstone group of properties, is located beside the Mersey River, close to the Spirit of Tasmania ferry terminal. Here, you can choose to stay in single or double standard rooms, many with water views. Each room has a kitchenette and comfortable sitting area with a sofa and television, and there are shared bathroom facilities. Dormitory accommodation for backpackers is also available. You can enjoy a drink in the Hotel's traditional public bar and lounge bar or visit the Oasis gaming lounge. There is live entertainment each weekend and at the Alexander Bistro, you can choose from the affordable, quality menu and wine list. Nearby attractions include Cradle Mountain National Park, in Tasmania's World Heritage Area, and Narawntapu National Park, known for its abundant wildlife. You can explore north coast beaches and watch fairy penguins return to their burrows at dusk, or sample fine Tasmanian produce at a local cheese maker, vineyard or chocolate factory.
