Edge of the Bay Resort is located at Coles Bay, on Tasmania's East Coast. It has magnificent views across Oyster Bay to the pink granite mountains of the Freycinet Peninsula.
This intimate family-run resort is right on the water's edge and offers two styles of accommodation; traditional family cabins set amongst the Sheoaks, and stylish contemporary ensuite rooms right on the beach with their own private deck. You can explore the area by bicycle, explore Freycinet National Park, go wildlife spotting at dusk, fish for the day; flathead are bountiful here. The resort has tennis courts.
You really need two days to explore the area; walking to Wineglass Bay or Hazards Beach, exploring Friendly Beaches, taking a tour to see if you will be lucky enough to spot a migrating whale or a pod of dolphins, bird watching or listening to the waves rolling onto the beach in front of your room.

Take an old-fashioned ice water plunge during your stay at one of three beaches. We host a maximum of 27 guests at any given time, ensuring only a small chance of someone beyond the fish catching a glimpse of your bottom. Prices start at $365 per night but the story of your Tasmanian winter adventure is priceless. 2-night minimum stay in place from April 15th – September 12th, 2024.

Secluded Cottage
Family, Double or Single Accommodation. Our Secluded Cottages have been designed to provide tranquil accommodation, with superb views across Great Oyster Bay to the 'Hazards' mountains and Freycinet Peninsula. The cottages have been carefully positioned for maximum seclusion and minimal environmental impact. You could be forgiven for thinking yours was the only cottage for miles. Each one has an LCD TV and stereo, heating, air conditioning dual control electric blankets. We can cater for you in the restaurant; alternatively, cottages are equipped with both a fully equipped kitchen and private BBQ. Inspired by the quintessential Aussie beach shack, the secluded cottages are fully equipped to provide everything a couple, or family need to enjoy the perfect seaside getaway.
