Mt Lyell Anchorage, Queenstown's finest self-contained accommodation, is the perfect place to relax after a long day exploring the countryside on your way to Tasmania's Western Wilderness. Luxury with a homely feel. Gorgeous bespoke bathrooms, comfortable beds, stylish mix of period and new furniture, quality inclusions and a friendly host. Situated in the centre of town, close to cafes, hotels, supermarkets, Paragon Theatre, RoamWild Tasmania Tours, West Coast Wilderness Railway, Galley Museum and all town facilities. The "Anchorage" main house is over 120 years old and has been fully renovated to compliment the original features. Magnificent pressed tin ceilings, lovely timber panelling and fireplaces, four double rooms with luxurious ensuite and one suite with full kitchen and new ensuite shower room. We also cater for those who prefer fully self-contained accommodation. Built-in the early 1960s to house mine workers, these two cottages are perfect for small families or groups. "Waratah Cottage" and "Tea Tree Bungalow" have two bedrooms, a bathroom and varying kitchen facilities.

It has a Queen bed, 32 inch flat screen television, toaster, kettle, small quiet fridge, table and chairs. Lovely bespoke bathroom has freestanding bath and separate large double shower. Sorry, no children under 14 years.

The Myrtle Suite is a fully equipped, self-contained suite within the main house. The huge main room has a Queen Bed, lounge/dining area, pellet fire and TV. The home's original fully equipped kitchen forms part of the suite with a beautiful new ensuite shower room added in 2021, featuring a gorgeous hand crafted Tasmanian Myrtle timber vanity.

Tea Tree Bungalow is a fully self-contained two-bedroom cottage which sleeps up to 4 guests. 1 Queen bed, 1 Double Bed and 1 King Single bed. It has a fully equipped kitchen, dining and lounge area, 32" flat screen TV and 2 shower cubicles. Great for small families or groups.

Waratah Cottage

Waratah Cottage is a fully self-contained two bedroom cottage next to the main house. Completely renovated in December 2013 it sleeps four, in one queen bed and two king singles. The kitchenette is well equipped with fridge, dishwasher, microwave, kettle, toaster, electric frypan, crockery, cutlery etc. Portable hotplates available on request. Bathroom has a walk-in shower. Lounge area has a 28 inch flat screen television. Great for families or small groups.
