This 1898 National Trust mansion with stunning views overlooking Queenstown, has four ensuite queen size guest rooms upstairs which include a silver service breakfast in the tariff for each guest.
There are also two ground floor, self catering, self contained spaces: a two-bedroom apartment with carport, spacious living area, great kitchen facilities and sleeps up to four adults. There is also a bedsit/studio ideal for one to two adults. Penghana offers elegant decor, a tranquil environment, two guest lounges, a recreational room as well a great outdoor space. You certainly won't feel you need to stay in your room!
The location is ideally situated for tourists and travelers wanting to experience the iconic Wilderness Railway (literally two minutes away), King River Rafting, Mountain Biking and Gordon River Cruises in Strahan which is only 45 minute drive.
For walkers and hikers, there are numerous tracks and destinations to explore the history and nature of this stunning West Coast area as well as a range or small two to three hour wilderness tours. Penghana is an ideal spot to unpack once and do it all, as you are only just on two hours from Cradle Mountain and Corrina. Guests who love history can easily become absorbed in the house's rich story, photographic displays, a host of treasures it offers as well as visiting two amazing museums.
ROOMS
Studio/Bedsit
The "Studio/bedsit" is Penghana's budget accommodation option is at the rear of, and separate to, the main house. This 17 sq m space has been cleverly configured to be fully self-contained without being cramped. Guests have access to other indoor/outdoor spaces during their stay, which are highlighted when you arrive, because at Penghana B&B we personally welcome all our guests. The Studio/Bedsit suits one guest,or is a cosy private pad for a couple. It comes air conditioning, comfortable queen bed, well-appointed kitchenette, ensuite, TV, great WiFi . Breakfast supplies available onsite at small additional cost.

Self Contained, Self Catering Apartment - Hanna's Place
Hanna's Place is 2 bedroom ground floor accommodation, at the rear of and separate to the main house, accommodating up to 4 adults who just prefer to be totally independent. It is not suitable for children under 15 years but ideal for persons unable to navigate 24 stairs to Penghana's ensuite rooms. The space is well-appointed with its own separate entrance, undercover parking, open plan kitchen/dining/living space, laundry facility, good water pressure, heating, Flat screen TV with Netflix. and 2 bedrooms (1 room x Queen and 1other with 2 King Singles). One only bathroom with an easy access shower but separate toilet. A shower stool and raised toilet seat are also available for guests. A great supply of bath towels and freshly laundered bathrobes are standard too. The kitchenette is fitted out with a full-size fridge, benchtop stove/airfryer, hot plates, microwave, rice cooker and more. No spectacular view, but peace and quietness and no road traffic noise is your bonus. Guests have access to Garden, BBQ facilities as well as the recreational room, licensed bar and formal lounge in the main house. Ability to manage 'two only' steps required for access.

Owen Room
The Owen is Penghana's sought after suite because of its breathtaking uninterrupted views and is the accommodation of choice for many visiting 21st century VIPS. It features a comfortable queen bed, sitting area, separate dressing room, ensuite and in-room silver service tea/coffee facilities. There is a large desk looking out to that amazing view which is ideal for corporate clients to work or catching up on your emails and social media. You will also enjoy complimentary port, and lots of creature comforts to make your stay special. From your hilltop position you'll enjoy amazing summer sunset colours and in winter snow caps while watch the comings and goings of the Queenstown's township.

Huxley
A spacious queen size ensuite room (upstairs) with mix of tradition with a modern twist including walk-in wardrobe, a newly renovated bathroom complete with shower over the bath. A table suitable for working or just catching with emails is provided. 2 sizes of fluffy towels, bathrobes and a range of guest consumables provided. You have access to two sittings rooms one of which is shared with only one other guest room. You won't feel you need to stay in your room. There's even a complimentary port. There's a kitchenette too with full sized fridge, microwave, toaster, platters, crockery for those take-away meals plus award winning coffee, wide selection of teas, hot chocolate, fresh milk and complimentary homemade cake.

Sedgwick Room
The smallest of our upstairs ensuite rooms (15.2 sq m plus compact en-suite), this room ideally suits solo/business travellers or a couple NOT looking for a suite. Complete with laptop friendly sized table and chair, it is airy, quiet and stylishly decorated. Bathrobes, Netflix and more than one bath towel are standard at Penghana. There is a choice of 2 sittings rooms to sit and relax in, access to Penghana's licensed bar and weather permitting, comfortable garden chairs to enjoy the views over the township. You also have access to a kitchenette with full sized fridge, microwave, award winning coffee, wide tea selection, hot chocolate, fresh milk and cake shared only by 1 other room.

VIP Suite
This suite reputedly has accommodated members of the British Royal Family, politician and international mining industry dignitaries. It is a private upstairs wing of the house with two queen beds in one room and the other set up as a sitting room dubbed "The Parlour"., which looks over the township. This light filled space is fitted out with quality antique decor including lounge, desk, dining suite, silver service tea and coffee station, fridge and all the additional touches that emulate its grand past, and of course the many little extras Penghana has become known for. "The Parlour" also has the capacity to accommodate an extra 1-2 adults. The additional bedding provided is the conversion of a plush couch into a sofa bed complete with double sized innerspring mattress. The space includes a freshly updated bathroom with a separate toilet. Tariff includes a home cooked Australian/English style silver service breakfast in the downstairs formal dining room each morning for each guest. The Parlour also serves as an ideal confidential meeting room. Not suitable for infants, toddlers or children under the age of 15 years.
