bruny NORTH Art, design and culture on North Bruny Island bruny NORTH is a contemporary gallery and creative space situated at Dennes Point, on the northern end of Bruny Island, Tasmania. Housed in a John Wardle designed building and built by the community, the gallery presents a rotating program of contemporary exhibitions, featuring work by Tasmanian and Australian artists, designers and makers. Its curatorial approach is grounded in ideas of sustainability, material integrity and cultural connection, with an emphasis on thoughtful, place-based practice. In addition to exhibitions, bruny NORTH hosts workshops, talks and residencies, supporting emerging artists and fostering dialogue across disciplines. The space is both a destination and a working part of the island's creative ecology. bruny NORTH advocates slow tourism, encouraging visitors to move slowly, stay longer and engage deeply with the rhythms of the island. Opening hours Friday and Saturday: 11 am – 7 pm Sunday: 11 am – 3 pm Exhibition updates are posted regularly on our social channels. Please note: We do not serve takeaway coffee, we do not like drones and if you are in a hurry, this is probably not the place for you.
