Made by Buck Brown
The new Spring Bay Maritime Museum offers the visitor to the Marina in Triabunna a view into the extensive local maritime history of the East Coast. It covers traditional first nations maritime history until the more recent commercial fishing, traditional boat building and restoration stories of more recent years. There are models of traditional boat designs, and stories of traditional model boat building with interesting examples. There are extensive stories about the local whaling industry from the late 19th and early 20th Centuries to the stories of local shipwrecks including interesting items of salvage. The Museum also proudly houses a traditional bark canoe and stories about how they were built.
