The Art of Richard Stanley, Studio and Gallery is located in Cygnet, Southern Tasmania. The Art Gallery resides in one of the first general stores in Cygnet, circa. 1905. A vast open space with high ceilings gives room for large canvases and drawings, artworks and glass jewellery. Meet Richard Stanley, the resident artist and talk about his work. Listen to ambient music as you peruse his original landscape paintings, limited edition prints, open prints and art greeting cards. The Gallery is located in a beautiful rural setting with mountain and river views. All work is Tasmanian produced with the majority being created on the premises by Richard himself. Artworks are based on landscapes in Tasmania with emphasis on the South. He makes his own stretched canvases so can make any size to suit the customer's needs. Richard also is a prolific producer of commissioned work. ie He can paint your favourite view from your photo or he will go and get the photos himself. Richard is also a stained glass artist having done many commissions throughout Australia. You can see his work in the front entry doors of his gallery. Stanley's Studio/Gallery is on the main road on the left, as you come into Cygnet from Huonville. Cygnet is a 49-minute drive (55 kilometres) south of Hobart.
