Expanding the cosmos at Mount Gnomon - Beaker Street Festival 2026

An image of Mount Gnomon Farm during the evening, with a view of the night sky.
Escape to the Dark Skies of Mount Gnomon Farm for a memorable evening of astronomy, culture, food, and music in one of the most atmospheric settings of North West Lutruwita/Tasmania. With minimal light pollution and the lush surrounds of the Dial Ranges, this is the perfect spot to gaze skyward and contemplate our place in the cosmos. In the cosy firelit barn, join Wuradjuri astrophysicist Dr Kirsten Banks for a talk on Indigenous astronomy, then hear from Hive Planetarium's chief astronomer Dr Martin George on NASA's recent Artemis II mission and humanity's return to the Moon. Graze on delicious Mount Gnomon fare and enjoy live music, with drinks available for purchase from the bar. If the skies are clear, head outside for stargazing and telescopes with the Astronomical Society of Tasmania. This event is part of Beaker Street Festival 2026
